Apple has dropped the price of its MLS Season Pass down to just $69 for new subscribers. As Apple TV+ subscribers already get a discount on MLS Season Pass, they can now lock down the remainder of this season for just $59. At these prices, new subscribers are saving a minimum of 25% on the usual $99 and $79 prices.
While the Major League Soccer season is now well underway, there are plenty of matches still to come. As a reminder, an MLS Season Pass subscription unlocks access to every match with no blackouts, including Leagues Cup matches and the Audi MLS Cup playoffs, so is a good subscription for soccer fans to have access to.
If only hoping to check in every now and then, there are currently no comparable monthly plan discounts on offer. As a result, new monthly subscribers will continue to pay $14.99 a month if they are not subscribed to Apple TV+, and $12.99 a month if they are an Apple TV+ subscriber.
Then again, if you only want to watch the occasional match then it might not be worth subscribing at all, as Apple sometimes makes games available to watch for free through the Apple TV app. This weekend, for example, every match will be available to watch without an MLS Season Pass subscription.
Last month, it was reported that Apple is close to agreeing a new deal for Apple TV to become the home of Mundial de Clubes FIFA, a 32-team version of the FIFA Club World Cup. If that deal goes through as reported, it will be interesting to see how Apple makes a short-term tournament available to soccer fans, and at what price.
