Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video are leading the charge when it comes to sports content on SVOD services, with a new report pointing to the three services collectively home to 92% of available streaming sports programming on the top SVOD services.

Speaking of which, Apple TV+ and Paramount+ were highlighted as completing the top five SVOD services for sports content.

According to Nielsen’s latest Gracenote Data Hub release, these five SVOD services grew sports content by 7.8% in the second quarter of 2025. This was almost double the rate of movie expansion, and almost one percentage point more than the rate of TV expansion.

In total, the number of unique TV, movie and sports titles offered by these services increased by 4,500 from February to May, an increase of 5%.

In the big picture for SVOD, overall content volume continues to rise but the CTV apps making this content available continually shift,” said Bill Michels, Chief Product Officer at Gracenote.

Of the five top services, Netflix saw the largest expansion of content overall, with its catalog increasing by 18.2%. Netflix was then followed by Apple TV+ (3.7%), Prime Video (3.2%), Disney+ (1.6%) and Paramount+ (1%).

Overall, Netflix accounted for more than 20% of all of the TV shows, movies and sports programs available on major streaming services, a notable increase on the previous quarter’s 17.9%.

Regardless of program type or any other attribute, effective content discovery helps streamers connect viewers to the entertainment they’ll enjoy most and get the most value out of each of the assets in their catalogs,” added Michels.
