Peacock is in the process of launching a new ‘Peacock Membership‘ rewards program. As the name suggests, the program rewards subscribers with various perks and benefits. With the program still in an unannounced and closed beta stage, details currently remain a little limited.

What You Need to Know

  • Peacock is quietly testing a new invite‑only rewards program that offers perks, discounts, and special experiences.
  • The program is currently only available to Premium and Premium Plus subscribers.
  • Rewards not only vary by type, but also by loyalty, with subscribers with a longer subscription history qualifying for better rewards.

As far as Streaming Better understands, the new ‘Peacock Membership’ program is invite-only for now. Invites are being sent out directly by Peacock, so there is no way to manually enroll in the program or request access.

Considering this is understood to be part of a much wider eventual rollout, those that don’t receive an invite in the coming days and weeks may still receive one in the future, as the program expands and presumably gets closer to a full public release.

One thing that is clear is that the program is only available to Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers. In other words, those signed up to the cheaper Select plan are automatically excluded from enrolling.

Likewise, downgrading from a Premium plan to Select will automatically result in rewards membership status being terminated.

A new Help page spotted by Streaming Better provides some basic details on the program. This includes confirmation that the variety of rewards will include “epic experiences, everyday perks, and special discounts.”

The Help post also makes clear that the rewards will differ by user. More specifically, by loyalty, with those signed up for a longer time in line for better rewards.

The longer you remain an eligible Peacock subscriber, the better your benefits will be.”

Some of these perks and benefits will seemingly rotate over time as well. According to Peacock, some rewards come with an expiry date and enrolled members that don’t redeem them in time will lose them.

In some cases, rewards also may be limited based on available quantity, resulting in a first-come basis.

Peacock Joins Disney and Hulu in Rewarding Subscribers

Assuming the rewards program fully rolls out as expected, Peacock will join what appears to be a growing list of services that are attempting to retain subscribers through perks and benefits.

Most notably, Disney+ and Hulu both launched their own rewards programs last year.

The Disney+ Perks and Hulu Perks programs also offer a range of benefits, including discounts on third-party products and services, exclusive giveaways, and unique fan-focused experiences.

DirecTV is yet another service that offers a rewards program. Although, as DirecTV Perks is specifically for live TV subscribers, it is generally a much more expensive program to qualify for. Similar to Peacock’s, however, DirecTV also tends to reward members with a longer subscription history with better perks.

Interestingly, with DirecTV, Disney, and Hulu all opting for the ‘Perks’ branding, Peacock appears to be looking to differentiate its program from the others, even at the name level.
