Philo has now started offering annual plans as an additional way for subscribers to save on the cost of a live TV package. Depending on the plan, subscribers can save up to $36 a year by opting to pay annually instead of monthly.
What You Need to Know
- Philo is introducing annual plans that allow subscribers to save up to $36 compared to monthly billing.
- Annual options are available for both Essential and Bundle+ packages.
- While Philo’s main live TV packages are now available as annual plans, add-ons continue to be billed monthly.
The cheapest live TV package Philo offers is Essential. This plan provides access to all of the premium networks and free channels offered by Philo and typically costs $25 a month. The new Essential Annual plan costs $275.88 a year. This breaks down to $22.99 a month on average, resulting in an annual saving of $24 each year.
Philo also offers a $33/mo Bundle+ package. In addition to everything included with the Essential plan, Bundle+ subscribers also get access to AMC+, Discovery+, and HBO Max at no additional cost.
The new Bundle+ Annual plan comes in at $359.88 a year. At this price, subscribers pay $29.99 a month on average, saving a total of $36 over the course of a full year.

Existing Subscribers Already Have Access to the New Annual Plans
While we have yet to see the new annual plans being offered to new subscribers signing up for the first time, they do now seem to be available to existing subscribers, returning subscribers, and those currently making use of Philo’s free tier.
Any of these subscribers should be able to see the new annual options when signing in and changing their plan. If already signed in, users can switch to an annual plan by visiting the Account page, followed by Manage Plan, selecting the Annual tab at the top of the page, and selecting either the Essential or Bundle+ package.
One of the caveats of the new annual plans is that annual Billing is not available for any of Philo’s add-ons. As a result, those signed up to an Essential or Bundle+ annual plan will continue to be billed monthly for any add-ons bundled with their live TV package.
Although the new annual plans don’t appear to be available to first-time subscribers just yet, we would expect that to change soon.
Of course, as Philo offers a 7-day free trial with its monthly Essential plan, it might be possible for new users to subscribe annually by signing up to the free trial and then switching to annual through the Account section.
The same workaround may also be possible when signing up for a free Philo account.
