Philo Core Subscriptions Now Cost A Minimum Of $33 A Month

Philo has increased the minimum price of its Core live TV package to $33 a month. Although the change results in a $5 increase each month, subscribers now get access to HBO Max and Discovery+ as part of their live TV package.

Generally speaking, Philo is fairly reserved when it comes to price increases. Although many streaming services increase their prices on an annual basis, Philo subscribers have encountered far fewer price increases over the years.

For example, while the price increased last year, this was the first price increase Philo subscribers had encountered in three years.

In spite of these infrequent price increases, Philo is now increasing in price again, and only a little over one year after the previous increase. Beginning today, a Philo Core subscription costs $33 a month, $5 more each month than it did before.

While new subscribers will now pay the higher rate when signing up, existing subscribers can expect to get one month at their current price. After which, their subscription will automatically renew at the new $33/month rate.

Although the price is rising to $33 a month, that cost relates to those signed up directly through Philo. If subscribed to Philo through a third party, the monthly cost might be higher.

Similar to last year’s price increase when AMC+ was added to the Core package, Philo hasn’t just increased in price. Instead, the Core package now includes HBO Max and Discovery+, with subscribers gaining access to the ad-supported tiers of each streaming service.

Considering a subscription to both of these streaming services would typically cost a minimum of $15.98 a month, subscribers now get more value than they did before, and more value than the amount of the increase.

Of course, for subscribers that don’t have any interest in either HBO Max or Discovery+, this is just another streaming-related price increase.
