Sling Orange subscribers are set to lose access to Cartoon Network at the end of the month. The loss of the channel is part of an intentional change, with Sling explaining to affected customers the removal is “due to rising costs from the programmer.” Cartoon Network is due to be removed from the Sling Orange lineup on April 30, 2025.
Although this appears to be the result of a carriage dispute, it is only Sling Orange subscribers that are affected. Sling Blue subscribers, as well as those signed up to the combined Orange & Blue package, will retain access to Cartoon Network after the April 30 deadline.
Likewise, Cartoon Network will remain available as part of the Entertainment Extra add-on. With Entertainment Extra priced at $6 a month, bundling this add-on with Sling Orange is one way to maintain access to Cartoon Network without changing or upgrading the base live TV package.
In addition to Cartoon Network, Entertainment Extra also unlocks access to Aspire, AWE, CMT, FeTV, Game Show Network, Laff, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Paramount Network, TruTV, Revolt, and TV Land.
Considering this is a confirmed change, and one that won’t result in Cartoon Network being completely removed from Sling TV, we don’t expect this change to be reversed in the near future. Instead, Sling Orange subscribers should expect the channel to be removed at the end of the month.
According to emails that are being sent out to affected subscribers, those set to lose access to the channel are being offered one month of Entertainment Extra for free. As this appears to be a targeted offer, the free month is likely to only be available to those that receive the email.
Any Sling Orange subscribers opting to take advantage of the free month should expect to pay the additional cost of the add-on for the second month, unless Entertainment Extra is removed from the live TV package before it automatically renews.
