Sling TV is offering a free preview of NBA League Pass this week, allowing subscribers to watch out-of-market games for free. Over the summer, Sling TV launched a Freeview Weekends promotion which made it possible to test out a number of premium services without having to pay. While this latest promotion is an extension of Freeview Weekends, the free period lasts much longer than a weekend this time.

NBA League Pass through Sling TV costs an additional $14.99 per month on top of the price of a base plan. Sling TV offers two main base subscriptions to choose from, Sling Orange and Sling Blue, and both are priced at $35 per month each. As a result, either Sling TV plan with NBA League Pass added to the package typically costs a minimum of $49.99 per month.

For this week, however, Sling TV subscribers get NBA League Pass completely for free. The free preview starts today (October 18th) and continues through Monday, October 24th. During this time, Sling TV subscribers are free to watch as much as they like at no additional cost. Once the free preview comes to an end, access will automatically be removed again. As a result, those who want to continue receiving access will need to manually add NBA League Pass to their existing package.

The free preview is also available to those signing up to Sling TV for the first time. In fact, Sling is still running a promotion that reduces the cost of a subscription by half for the first month. In other words, it is possible to sign up now and only pay as little as $17.50 for one month of live TV with access to NBA League Pass until Oct. 24. Unlike the free preview, Sling TV subscribers will need to manually cancel their subscription if they don’t want to remain a paid subscriber once the discounted first month comes to an end.

It is also possible to sign up for an NBA League pass directly, and for the same $14.99 per month rate offered by Sling TV. Signing up through the NBA website also includes a 7-day free trial, so this is another way to watch for free over the next week, and irrespective of whether a Sling TV subscriber or not.
