This was the first year that Tubi streamed the Super Bowl and the data suggests it also registered the lowest latency, resulting in the lowest streaming delay overall.
Tubi’s stream delay was calculated as 26 seconds, according to the latest data from Phenix. Tubi was followed by NFL+ at 51 seconds, Hulu Live TV at 62 seconds, DirecTV Stream at 63 seconds, and Sling TV at 64 seconds.
YouTube TV then came in at 67 seconds and Fubo the worst at 78 seconds.

Even though this doesn’t present the live TV streaming services in the most positive light, some services saw a notable improvement over last year.
For example, while Fubo registered the worst lag at 78 seconds this year, Fubo’s average lag for the 2024 Super Bowl was 86.75 seconds. Likewise, Hulu Live TV’s 62 seconds was down from last year’s 70.16 seconds.
In contrast, DirecTV Stream’s 63 seconds was an increase on last year’s 60.62 seconds, and YouTube TV’s 67 seconds was an increase on last year’s 55.54 seconds.
In terms of latency drift (the difference between the slowest and fastest streams on the same streaming service), Tubi again registered the lowest overall with 39 seconds.
Tubi was followed by Hulu Live TV with 41 seconds and NFL+ with 46 seconds. The rest of the services ranged between 49 and 57 seconds.

When compared to cable, Phenix noted cable providers registered latency levels between 32-81 seconds. According to the data, this meant that some Tubi users were seeing plays 10 or more seconds ahead of a cable broadcast.
