Telegram adds Chromecast support To Android app

Telegram has added a bunch of new features and supports to its Android app in a bid to improve the user experience. For those with a Chromecast device, the latest batch of upgrades includes the ability to cast videos directly from the Android app.

While not a massive upgrade for all users, Chromecast support will certainly streamline the process for those that often watch videos on Telegram. Instead of having to find an alternate way to store and cast content, those users can now cast videos without having to leave the Telegram mobile app.

To take advantage of the new cast support after updating the app to the latest version, open a video in the Telegram app, tap the Settings icon, and select Chromecast. The user will then be able to choose which nearby Chromecast device to send the video to.

For those less interested in watching or sharing videos, the latest round of updates also includes more control over privacy for content creators and public figures, additional ways to monetize audiences, the ability to filter incoming messages, and earn Telegram Stars.

The updates also include an info page for new chats to prevent scams, the ability to gift Premium with Stars, and the ability to save even more on verification.
