The Cost Of A Paramount+ Subscription Is Increasing In August

Paramount Global has confirmed that the cost of a Paramount+ subscription will increase in price in August. Once the price increase rolls out, the price of the Paramount+ Essential plan will increase by $2, up to $7.99 a month. At the same time, the cost of the ad-free Paramount+ with Showtime tier will increase by $1, up to $12.99 a month.

Both of these price increases are set to take effect on August 20, 2024 for new subscribers. Existing Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers will have a little longer, as their price increase will take effect on the first billing cycle after September 20, 2024.

That is providing they are subscribed on a monthly basis, as annual subscribers to the Paramount+ with Showtime plan won’t see their price increase at all. Also, and similar to the recent price increase for Max, it would seem those currently signed up to cheapest (Paramount+ Essential) tier won’t see their price increase either.

That said, those subscribed to the legacy ‘Limited Commercials‘ plan can expect to see the cost of their subscription increase by $1, up to $7.99 a month.

Paramount+ and Max are not the only streaming services to announce price increases recently, as Peacock also confirmed that its prices are going up next month. From July 18, the Peacock Premium plan set to increase to $7.99 a month (or $79.99/year) and the cost of the Peacock Premium Plus plan is increasing to $13.99 a month (or $139.99/year).
