The Roku Channel has added a number of new FAST channels in Canada, taking the overall number of free ad-supported streaming TV channels now available through Roku‘s free streaming service to more than 150.

The newest additions range from news to comedy and include Corner Gas Channel, CTV @ Home, CTV Laughs, Noovo Cinéma, TSN The Ocho, and Wicked Tuna. Roku also plans to add EarthDay 365, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Graham Norton Show, Heartland, Murdoch Mysteries, and Zoomer Television FAST channels in the coming weeks.

In addition to these new themed channels, Roku has confirmed three more CBC News local channels are also coming to The Roku Channel in the near future. Once available, the new local channels will offer local news, weather and more for Manitoba, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

The variety you can now find on The Roku Channel in Canada is a big reason we’re proud of this FAST milestone,” said Jennifer Vaux, Vice President of Content Acquisition & Programming at Roku Media. “Having more than 150 linear channels reflects our ongoing commitment to a curated, entertaining experience for Canadian audiences.”

As a reminder, The Roku Channel is available to access for free on the company’s lineup of streaming players and Roku TV smart TVs. Along with the more than 150 live channels, users also get access to a wide variety of content that’s available to stream at any time.

Last month Roku confirmed it is making it easier for Google TV users in the U.S. to find content available to watch through the free streaming service. This is being made possible thanks to a deeper integration of The Roku Channel on Google TV devices, including new search and discovery options.
