Earlier this year, Microsoft and LG announced plans to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to LG smart TVs. For those that have been waiting for this support to arrive, it now has, with the Xbox app now available to download on LG TVs.

In fact, the support is going live this week for LG Smart TV owners in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA.

In terms of device compatibility, the Xbox app is available on LG TVs and select smart monitors running webOS 24 and newer versions. The app is also set to become available on StanbyME screens in the near future, according to LG.

As a reminder, the availability of the Xbox app makes it possible for LG smart TV owners to play games directly on their LG Smart TV, and without the need for a console.

Although no additional hardware, other than a controller, is required, those wanting to game on their LG TV will still need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. A subscription currently costs $19.99 a month through the Xbox website.

In return for that price, subscribers get access to hundreds of high-quality games, including the ability to play many new games on day one.

For those without access to a compatible LG smart TV, it is also possible to stream games on select Amazon Fire TV devices with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
