Multiview On YouTube TV

It has been a long time coming but it now looks like YouTube TV‘s Multiview is fully customizable. Well, for Sunday NFL games at least. The company announced the improved Multiview as part of a variety of general upgrades to its NFL Sunday Ticket subscription.

Basically, NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers through YouTube and YouTube TV can now select any combination of two, three, or four available NFL Sunday Ticket games. If subscribed through YouTube TV, the Multiview experience can be customized even further, thanks to the ability to build combinations that also include available local NFL games.

After also making Multiview available to YouTube TV subscribers on mobile devices earlier this year, YouTube has confirmed NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers through YouTube Primetime Channels will also be able to use Multiview on mobile devices and tablets at the start of the season.

YouTube’s Fantasy View now also includes support for Yahoo Fantasy accounts, allowing both NFL Fantasy and Yahoo Fantasy users to keep track of their teams while watching a game. Fantasy View is also set to become available on mobile devices, tablets, and the web later this year for those subscribed to NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube.

Other NFL Sunday Ticket improvements announced today include:

  • Hide scores for specific teams using spoiler mode, so you avoid final scores or live previews from appearing before you’re ready to start watching
  • If you’d like more advanced playback controls to get closer to the action, we have a feature for YouTube TV members. While watching a game live on your TV, select the three dot more menu to find the “Broadcast Delay” option. From there you have the option to choose between “decreased” or “default.” The feature will stay on until you disable it to go back to default. “Default” is best to minimize the chance of playback interruptions; “Decreased” is best to reduce live spoilers
  • For the channel surfers, we have our latest jump to last channel shortcut. Viewers can quickly go back and forth between channels, making sure they don’t miss any of the action. Just press and hold the Select or OK button on the remote to switch back to the last channel

As a reminder, the cost of NFL Sunday Ticket increased earlier this month. New subscribers can now expect to pay a minimum of $379 a season when signing up through YouTube TV and a minimum of $479 a season when signing up through YouTube.
