DirecTV and DirecTV Stream subscribers currently have access to a five-day free preview of the Movies Extra Pack add-on. Considering the free preview began today, the additional channels will remain free through Monday (Sept. 30).
During the free preview, the Movies Extra Pack channels can be found on Ch. 564-573 for DirecTV via Satellite and DirecTV Stream subscribers, and on Ch. 364, 564-573 for DirecTV via Internet customers.
As a reminder, the Movies Extra Pack add-on includes access to the following channels:
- Hallmark Mystery
- Hallmark Family
- Sony Movies
- HDNET Movies
- Smithsonian Channel
- Crime & Investigation
- MTV Live
- ShortsTV
In addition to the above channels, DirecTV and DirecTV Stream customers also get access to Insp as well.
If interested in maintaining access to these channels following the free preview, the Movies Extra Pack add-on can be bundled with any DirecTV or DirecTV Stream package for an additional $5 a month.
For those completely new to DirecTV Stream, the live TV service is still running a promotion which reduces the cost of some of its live TV packages by as much as $60 over the first three months. Signing up over the weekend will also unlock access to all of the Movies Extra Pack add-on channels until the end of the current free preview.
Earlier this week, Philadelphia’s WFMZ-TV was added to the DirecTV Stream and DirecTV via Internet channel lineups. Even earlier in the month, DirecTV Satellite customers gained access to Fox Weather, and another 10 FAST channels were added to DirecTV Stream, including dedicated Ax Men, Duck Dynasty and Ice Road Truckers channels.
