Up until yesterday, DirecTV Stream was offering its ‘Best Price Ever’ deal, resulting in a minimum discount of $90 over the first three months. However, that deal has now been replaced with a promotion offering up to $60 off the cost of live TV.
To take maximum advantage of the latest promotion, new subscribers will need to sign up to either the Choice, Ultimate or Premier packages, all of which currently come with a $20 monthly discount, totaling $60 over three months.
If signing up to Choice, the discount lowers the cost down to $88.99 a month for the first three months. Likewise, the promotion lowers the cost of Ultimate down to $99.99 a month for three months, and the cost of Premier down to $144.99 a month for three months.
If signing up to the cheapest Entertainment plan, new subscribers won’t actually save anything on the cost of the base package. Instead, they’ll get access to Entertainment and the Sports Pack add-on for $79.98 for two months. Considering Sports Pack costs an additional $15 a month, this is the equivalent to getting the sports add-on for free.
Technically, new Entertainment subscribers will save on the second month as DirecTV Stream plans to increase the price of its plans in October. Following that price change, the cost of Entertainment will increase to $87 a month.
When adding the additional $15 for Sports Pack, new subscribers in October will pay $102 a month for both the base plan and add-on, $22 more than the second discounted month.
For those considering signing up at the current discounted prices, it is worth being aware that DirecTV is currently locked in a dispute with Disney. The dispute has resulted in Disney-owned channels, including ABC and ESPN, being removed from all of DirecTV Stream’s live TV packages.
