FreeCast is launching a new loyalty rewards feature that’s designed to reward viewers with bill credits. In short, the more ads someone watches, the cheaper some of their streaming subscriptions could become.

What You Need to Know

  • FreeCast’s PayMeAds rewards users with credits for watching ads on participating free channels.
  • Viewers can apply earned points toward paid subscriptions managed through FreeCast’s MediaPay platform.
  • The new loyalty reward has the potential to help save on the cost of streaming.

Over the past few years, FreeCast has morphed into a digital media and streaming aggregation platform. Users can not only watch FAST content, but they can also stream on-demand titles and even pay for subscriptions.

The latter is made possible through FreeCast’s MediaPay subscription and billing management platform. It is also through MediaPay that FreeCast is launching its new PayMeAds loyalty reward.

PayMeAds works by rewarding users for watching advertisements on free channels. As this is an in-house rewards benefit, PayMeAds points can only be earned by watching participating free channels on FreeCast.

As long as a viewer is watching one of these FAST channels, qualifying points can be turned into credits, which can then be applied to paid streaming subscriptions managed through a connected MediaPay account.

“Consumers are trying to stretch their entertainment budgets while navigating more subscriptions, more accounts, and commercials across both free and paid services,” said William Mobley, founder and CEO of FreeCast. “With PayMeAds, we’re giving qualifying ad viewing an additional purpose. Viewers can enjoy free channels, earn rewards, and apply those rewards toward paid streaming subscriptions through MediaPay. Their time can help offset their streaming costs.”

As PayMeAds officially launches on December 1st, the ability to collect points is set to become available in time for the busy holiday period — when television viewing typically spikes.

In the meantime, finer details on how the new benefit works remain unclear. This includes exactly how many points consumers can collect per minute of ad viewing, or how much each point will be worth in terms of subscription bill credits.

The company only explained that “reward amounts depend on qualifying activity and program terms” and “the program does not guarantee that viewing rewards will cover an entire subscription payment.”

Still, for those already using the FreeCast platform, and especially those already managing streaming subscriptions through MediaPay, this latest rewards benefit has the potential to help save on the cost of streaming.
