CNBC launched CNBC+, its new streaming service, earlier this year. As is typically the case with any new service, device support was somewhat limited to begin with. That’s changed a little today as the standalone subscription service is also now available on Apple TV and Roku devices.
To put the device support into perspective, the service was only initially available via the Android and iOS mobile apps, or by heading over to the website. However, with Apple TV and Roku device support also now available, many more homes are gaining the opportunity to check out the streaming service and what it has to offer.
“We’re thrilled to expand our distribution of CNBC+ to Apple TV and Roku,” said KC Sullivan, CNBC President. “Giving new and existing audiences another way to engage with our content ensures they never miss a moment of CNBC’s highly valued insights and analysis that matter most for their money.”
The big selling point with CNBC+ is access to the CNBC livestream, a ‘global’ livestream of CNBC’s business day coverage, including coverage of the U.S., Europe, and Asian markets. In addition to the livestream, subscribers also get access to real-time data via CNBC’s ‘Market Data’ stream.
On top of watching live, CNBC+ is also home to an on-demand library packed with the network’s U.S. programming, including regularly scheduled shows and special content produced by CNBC such as CNBC Leaders. Unlike other streaming services, however, the on-demand library is only available for a very limited time, as all U.S. Business Day programming is only available to stream on demand for up to seven days after premiere.
Considering this is a subscription service, consumers will have to weigh up the pros and cons of adding CNBC+ to their ever-growing list of paid monthly subscriptions. And with the price starting at $14.99 a month, CNBC+ isn’t exactly cheap.
Still, for those that want non-stop access to CNBC’s business news content, the monthly price is likely to be worth paying.
