DirecTV is continuing to expand its local sports offerings, providing more options for sports fans looking to stream their favorite teams and leagues.
The latest expansion sees the company’s MyHome Team Mini-Pack gaining access to the Spectrum SportsNet LA and Spectrum SportsNet regional sports networks, as well as dedicated MLB team channels for the Cleveland Guardians, Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Diego Padres.
The new channels have been added just in time for MLB’s opening weekend, making it possible for fans in more locations to watch their local team play, albeit for an additional fee each month.
As a reminder, MyHome Team is an add-on that’s available to bundle with DirecTV’s MySports Genre Pack. On top of the $69.99/mo cost of the MySports Genre Pack, the MyHome Team Mini-Pack adds another $19.99 each month to the cost.
At launch, MyHome Team was a little limited in terms of networks, with the add-on including games for 37 professional teams (12 MLB, 15 NBA and 10 NHL). Today’s expansion, two weeks after the launch of the Mini-Pack, now takes the number up to 44 professional teams (18 MLB, 16 NBA, and 10 NHL), and highlights how quickly DirecTV is working to expand the channels and networks available.
For those currently signed up to DirecTV’s satellite or U-verse services, the company has also now added the Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins channels to its lineup in each team’s home region.
Also this week, DirecTV increased the value on offer with its MyEntertainment Genre Pack by unlocking access to the Max streaming service at no additional cost to subscribers.
