DirecTV has now launched a new ‘MyHome Team’ Mini-Pack add-on, offering MySports subscribers the option to add regional sports networks to their live TV package at an additional monthly cost.
DirecTV only launched its new MySports Genre Pack in January. This was quickly followed by the addition of the MyEntertainment, MyNews, and MiEspañol Genre Packs. Unlike those other Genre Packs, however, MySports is focused on delivering access to sports and broadcast channels.
For those that don’t feel the MySports package is quite enough for their sports needs, the new MyHome Team add-on might help to fill in some of those gaps by providing access to local MLB, NBA, NHL, and other teams.
The new MyHome Team Mini-Pack costs $19.99 a month and is only available as an add-on to the MySports Genre Pack.
“MyHome Team delivers unmatched flexibility and control for a local sports enthusiast to tune in and watch their teams whenever they want, whether that’s all season long or during portions of the season,” said Vince Torres, chief marketing officer at DirecTV. “With industry-leading features like Sports Mode, Game Time Notifications, Pre-Game Stats and Live Scores included, DirecTV customers can stream their local team satellite-free and never miss a play.”
As to be expected at launch, MyHome Team is a little limited right now in terms of networks. For example, the add-on currently includes games for 37 professional teams, which breaks down to 12 MLB, 15 NBA, and 10 NHL teams.
DirecTV has confirmed that it plans to expand MyHome Team’s availability into other major metro areas soon by adding more regional sports networks and team channels.
In the meantime, consumers interested in seeing if MyHome Team currently includes their preferred RSN and team can check by heading over to the DirecTV Stream website and entering their zip code in the lookup tool.
