Earlier today, Fubo announced its Multiview feature is now available on select Roku devices, offering users of a compatible Roku device the option to stream up to four live TV channels at the same time on the one device.
However, up to is a very important point to be aware of here, as a new help post reveals that most supported Roku devices are limited to only two Multiview streams.
First off, the full list of ‘select Roku devices’ is currently limited to the following:
- Roku Ultra (4850X)
- Roku Express 4K (3940X2)
- Roku Express 4K+ (3941X2)
- Roku Streaming Stick 4K (3820X2)
- Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ (3821X2)
Of these devices, the Roku Ultra is the only one that can stream a maximum of four channels at the same time in Multiview mode.
In contrast, the Roku Express 4K, Roku Express 4K+, Roku Streaming Stick 4K, and Roku Streaming Stick 4K+, only currently support a maximum of two simultaneous channels when in Multiview mode.
Other caveats to be aware of is that supported Roku devices must be running a minimum of Roku OS 14, and the Fubo app will need to be the very latest version (currently v5.8.0).
It is worth noting that the current version of Multiview on Roku is a beta version, so it is possible that the maximum number of streams could change in the future.
Fubo also says it plans to expand its Roku Multiview support even further in the coming weeks, so it is expected that additional devices will be added in due course.
