Peacock Discontinues ‘Plus’ Add-On For Premium Subscribers

Peacock has made the decision to discontinue its ‘Plus’ add-on. As a result of this change, Peacock Premium subscribers can no longer add Plus to their base subscription.

The change doesn’t mean the end of the Premium Plus plan in general, as new and existing subscribers can still choose to upgrade to the Premium Plus plan. They will just no longer be able to add Plus to an existing Premium plan.

The change officially took effect on April 1st, 2025, so new subscribers are already unable to add Plus when signing up to Peacock. For those already signed up to Premium, and paying the additional fee for the Plus add-on, they will continue to have access to the add-on until their next renewal date.

Once that date arrives, they will find that their Plus add-on has been removed and they are no longer charged the additional fee. At the same time, they will also no longer have access to any of the benefits that come with Plus.

Existing subscribers that do want to maintain access to the benefits of Plus will need to completely upgrade their existing Premium subscription to Premium Plus.

A Small But Notable Change

Although this may seem like a small change, there are some notable effects of the change. Throughout the year, for example, Peacock runs promotions that drastically reduce the cost of the Premium annual plan.

While it was previously possible to take advantage of one of these annual promotions, and add the Plus add-on to lower the cost of the Premium Plus experience, that will no longer be possible.

Instead, each time one of these annual plan deals rolls around, subscribers will now need to choose between a discounted ad-supported Premium plan or paying full price for an ad-free Plus plan.

Another effect of this change is that annual Premium subscribers won’t be able to turn on and off the Plus add-on throughout the year. Instead, they will have to fully upgrade their annual Premium plan to Premium Plus and pay the additional Plus fee for the year.
