What You Need to Know

  • Samsung TV Plus is majorly expanding its U.S. Korean entertainment selection.
  • A new weekly K-Wave Wednesdays movie night begins today with the arrival of Exhuma.
  • The free streaming service is also adding a military reality competition and a collection of short-form microdramas.

Over the past couple of years, Samsung has been aggressively expanding its K-Content catalog with a view to becoming the free streaming home of Korean entertainment in the U.S.

Samsung is now officially doubling down on that strategy and the upgraded experience begins today with K-Wave Wednesdays. As the name suggests, this is a weekly event, and will see 10 movies becoming available to watch on the free streaming service through the end of the year.

Kicking off K-Wave Wednesdays is today’s arrival of supernatural thriller Exhuma, which can now be watched on the Movie Hub channel.

The rest of this year’s K-Wave Wednesdays collection includes Salmokji: Whispering Water (Nov. 4), The Roundup (Nov. 11), The Roundup 2 (Nov. 18), Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (Nov. 25), Assassination (Dec. 2), 12.12: the Day (Dec. 9), The King’s Warden (Dec. 16), Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days (Dec. 23), and A Taxi Driver on Dec. 30.

In addition to these movies, Samsung TV Plus is also adding Iron Squad season three to its catalog next month. The Korean military reality competition featuring elite special forces veterans will begin streaming on the All Action channel from November 4.

If you prefer your content in bite-sized form, the following short-form microdramas will also be available to stream on-demand in the U.S. in December.

  • A Cute Guy from Korea
  • Blood Strangers
  • My Baby Daddy Is My Best Friend
  • White Angel Has No Wings: Fallen Angel
  • Deathwish Covenant: After-School Revenge
  • OX No Egg Man
  • Touch Me If You Can
  • Substance of Vanity
  • My Unstoppable Gaydar!
  • The Savior’s Time
  • Naughty by Arrangement
  • High School Boy
  • The Secret Roommate

As mentioned, all of this additional K-Content is only the latest expansion by Samsung TV Plus. As the free streaming service is already home to a very large library of K-Content, new users don’t have to wait until these titles drop to dive in and start streaming.
