When did Discovery Plus launch?
Discovery Plus started streaming in the US in 2021. The service officially went live on January 4th, 2021. This global launch actually consisted of an initial 25 countries, including the U.S., the UK, Ireland and India. Since then, the service has continued to expand to more countries and regions.
Who owns Discovery Plus?
Discovery Plus was owned solely by Discovery, Inc, the same company that offers Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and TLC, among others. However, Discovery, Inc merged with WarnerMedia in 2022 to form Warner Bros. Discovery. As a result, Discovery Plus is now owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.
What devices is Discovery Plus available on?
Similar to other streaming services, Discovery Plus is compatible with a wide range of devices, including smart TVs, streaming players, mobile devices and more. Supported platforms include:

Is Discovery Plus worth it?
Yes, for some individuals and households. Ultimately, whether Discovery Plus is worth it will depend on an individual or household’s existing setup. Those who will most likely find the most value in a Discovery Plus subscription are those that don’t currently have access to Discovery Channel or any of the other Discovery-related channels. However, even for some of those with a live TV subscription, the extensive Discovery Plus on-demand catalog and Originals may prove worth the extra cost.
