Dish is increasing the price of its live TV packages again. While Dish seems to increase its prices every year nowadays, the frequency of price increases seems to be increasing as well. For example, after rolling out a price increase in Nov. 2021 and then again in Nov. 2022, Dish last increased the price of its packages in Oct. 2023.

Following that change in frequency last year, this year’s price increases are also arriving a little earlier than before, with the new prices set to take effect on September 19.

Depending on the plan, customers could end up paying up to $8 more each month.

Along with the English Core packages, the DishLATINO Packages are also set to increase to the following prices on the same date.

Dish provided two reasons as to why it was increasing prices this year. The first reason puts the blame on local broadcasters.

The local broadcasters of ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC stations continually force us to pay more for their channels or threaten to remove them from our customers. The cost for these channels has risen over 200% over the past 5 years,” Dish said.

The second reason puts the blame on “large programmers that own most of the channels you enjoy.” Specifically, the fact that channels are typically bundled together, requiring customers to pay for all of the channels from a programmer instead of the most popular channels.

Dish also took the opportunity to remind customers of how it has been improving its service recently, including the ability to get Netflix’s Standard with ads plan at no additional cost for the first two years.
