If you own a Sony PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 then you might not be able to watch the Super Bowl for free through Tubi. While Tubi does support these game consoles, both currently appear to be missing support for this year’s Super Bowl stream.
Last month, Fox confirmed that Tubi would be offering the option for football fans to watch the Super Bowl for free on Tubi, making the free streaming service a really easy way to stream the big game. In addition to the game, a selection of pre-and-post game programming, including an exclusive show, will also be available to watch for free on Tubi.
However, Tubi’s help center makes clear that not every supported device will be able to stream the game. In particular, Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 appear to be completely missing from the list of supported devices.
Streaming Better has reached out to Tubi to confirm the PlayStation Tubi app doesn’t support this year’s Super Bowl stream.
According to Tubi’s help pages, only the following platform apps are confirmed to support this year’s Super Bowl live stream.
- Amazon Fire TV
- Android Mobile
- Android TV/Google TV
- Apple TV
- Comcast/Xfinity
- Cox
- iPhone
- LG TV
- Roku
- Samsung TV
- Vizio
- Web
- Xbox One
For devices not listed above, the help post explains “If you’re using a device outside of this list, the game won’t be accessible.” Other than stating “some devices just aren’t built for the ride,” the help pages do not provide any additional information or explanation on why these devices aren’t supported.
It is also worth noting the list explicitly only includes Xbox One and not either the Xbox Series S or Series X. It currently remains unclear if this is just an error or whether these newer Xbox consoles also lack support.
Again, Streaming Better has reached out for confirmation on Xbox support but has yet to receive a response.
