FanDuel Sports Network RSNs, formerly Bally Sports RSNs, are set to become available as Prime Video add-ons after Diamond Sports Group agreed a multi-year deal with Prime Video.
As a result of the deal, local access to Diamond’s FanDuel Sports Network’s 16 regional sports networks will be accessible to Prime Video members living within a team’s designated geographic area. Those that do opt to sign up for their local add-on will not only be able to watch live games directly through Prime Video but also pre- and post-game programming as well.
“Partnering with Prime Video, one of the largest streaming destinations in the U.S., and making FanDuel Sports Network available as part of their add on subscriptions, creates a tremendous opportunity for us to expand our reach and better connect with viewers. Our partnerships with Prime Video and FanDuel combine with our agreements with team, league and distribution partners to support a transformative reorganization of our business, and a leading linear and digital offering that will continue driving long-term value and enhanced experiences for our partners and fans,” said David Preschlack, CEO of Diamond.
While no details on the price have been provided so far, it stands to reason that the add-ons will cost the same as a standalone subscription. Although this also means it won’t be any cheaper to subscribe through Prime Video, the availability of the add-ons will offer Prime Video subscribers a way to watch live sports and manage their subscription directly within Prime Video.
Following the rebranding of Bally Sports RSNs as FanDuel Sports Network RSNs last month, Diamond confirmed that sports fans will also have the option of paying to watch individual games. Instead of paying on a monthly or seasonal basis, single-game purchases will begin at $6.99.
It currently remains unclear whether single-game purchases will also be available through Prime Video.
