Hulu ended the first calendar quarter of 2025 (Disney Q2 FY25) with 4.4 million Live TV subscribers. The latest subscriber update confirms a loss of around 200,000 subscribers during the first three months of the year.
While Hulu Live TV ended 2024 with 4.6 million subscribers, that’s not the full picture, as the streaming service added no new subscribers during that previous quarter. Instead, with 200,000 subscribers added in the previous quarter (calendar Q3 2024), Hulu only managed to add around 200,000 subscribers over the entire second half of the year.
Now, with Hulu Live TV having lost 200,000 subscribers during the first three months of this year, the service has already lost all of those subscribers added in the second half of 2024, taking the number back down to the level reported for the end of June 2024.
Considering Hulu ended the first calendar quarter of 2024 with 4.5 million live TV subscribers, the latest subscriber update also confirms a year-over-year loss of around 100,000 subscribers.
Live TV Streaming Subscriber Tracker
When it comes to the wider Hulu service, the picture is a little more positive. After closing out the first calendar quarter of 2025 with 50.3 basic Hulu subscribers, the non-live TV side of the service managed to add around 1.3 million subscribers during the most recent quarter.
On a year over year basis, the 50.3 million also resulted in an increase of almost 5 million subscribers, compared to the 45.8 million reported in May 2024.
Overall, the combined total for Hulu (SVOD + Live TV) came in at 54.7 million at the end of the quarter, an increase on the 53.6 million reported for the previous quarter, and an increase on the 50.2 million subscribers reported for the end of the first calendar quarter of last year.
