Comcast released its latest quarter results and it looks like Peacock didn’t add any subscribers during the most recent quarter. On the other hand, it would also appear that Peacock didn’t lose any subscribers either.
With no change in the overall number of subscribers, Peacock ended last year with 36 million paid subscribers, the same number it had at the end of the third quarter of 2024.
While Comcast didn’t see any increase in the final three months of the year, Comcast did point out that the number of paid subscribers had grown over the year in general. With around 36 million subscribers at the end of the year, and 31 million paid subscribers reported for the end of 2023, the streaming service managed to add around five million subscribers during 2024.
Again, those five million were predominantly added during the first nine months of the year.
It is worth noting that Peacock increased in price in July of last year. As July was when the price increase took effect, and didn’t roll through for existing subscribers until August 17, the fourth quarter was the first full quarter at the higher price.
On the topic of money, Comcast confirmed Peacock revenue increased 28% to $1.3 billion in the fourth quarter. Revenue also increased to $4.9 billion for the full year, an increase of 46% compared to the prior year period.
Comcast launched a new ‘Sports & News TV’ live TV package earlier this month. The new package costs a minimum of $70 a month and not only unlocks access to more than 50 sports and news channels, but also Peacock’s library of live and on-demand content.
