Peacock ended the first quarter of 2025 with 41 million paid subscribers. Considering the streaming service closed 2024 with 36 million, Peacock managed to add around five million subscribers during the first three months of this year.
The 36 million reported for the end of the fourth quarter was no higher or lower than the number of subscribers reported for the end of the third quarter of 2024. With no change noted for the previous quarter, a jump of five million in the most recent quarter is all the more notable.
According to Comcast, much of this quarterly increase was driven by the Charter bundle, which went live at the end of March. As part of that multi-year distribution agreement with NBCUniversal, Peacock Premium is now included with Spectrum TV Select plans at no additional cost.
On a year-over-year basis, Peacock closed out the first quarter of 2024 with 34 million paid subscribers. With 41 million reported for the most recent quarter, the streaming service managed to add around seven million subscribers over the past year.
In terms of revenue, Peacock saw a year over year jump of 16% to $1.2 billion. While Peacock also saw a loss of $215 million during the quarter, this was significantly lower than the $639 million loss reported in the prior year period.
It is not just the subscriber base that’s improving either. Earlier this month, Peacock began rolling out a mobile app update which adds some new features, including Can’t Miss Clips, Prediction Games, and Mini-Games.
