Sony‘s Bravia TV lineup is a good option for homes looking for a smart TV with a focus on a premium experience. And for those contemplating buying a new TV this year, the company will be releasing its new for 2025 models soon, including a cheaper option.
The new 2025 models include the Bravia 8 II, the Bravia 5 Mini-LED TV, and the Bravia 2 II. The Bravia 8 II is designed to be Sony’s new flagship QD-OLED and the successor to the A95L. The Bravia 5 Mini-LED TV leverages Sony’s XR Processor and boasts an AI scene-recognition system. Last, but not least, the Bravia 2 II is the new entry-level option.
As Sony has opted to not provide detailed pricing and availability information today, it remains unclear how much—or in the case of the Bravia 2 II, how cheap—these 2025 models will be. According to Sony, firm pricing and availability will be announced later in the Spring.
What we do know, however, is that the 2025 Bravia lineup will be available in a variety of sizes, ranging from 43” with the Bravia 2 II to 98” with the Bravia 5. And, as in the past, the 2025 Bravia TVs will come powered by Google TV, providing buyers with access to a wide range of apps, including all of the main streaming services.
Bravia 8 II
Billed as the company’s new flagship QD-OLED smart TV, the Bravia 8 II takes advantage of Sony’s proprietary XR processor, the latest generation QD-OLED panel, and XR Triluminos Max. With the XR Processor on board, the smart TV is able to make use of AI scene-recognition to detect, analyze and portray the most realistic display.
The Bravia 8 II will be available in 55″ and 65″ sizes.
Bravia 5
While the Bravia 5 Mini-LED is not as premium as the Bravia 8 II, it is still designed to be a premium offering in general. The company says it will include many of the state-of-the-art technologies and features of last year’s most advanced models, albeit in a more affordable package.
The Bravia 5 is set to become available in five different screen sizes ranging from 55″ to 98”.
Bravia 2 II
Although the Bravia 2 II is designed to be a new and more affordable smart TV, the goal here is still to offer a premium viewing experience, including the ability to upscale HD to 4K where available. Buyers will also benefit from immersive audio, thanks to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility.
The Bravia 2 II will also be available to purchase in a variety of sizes ranging from 43” to 75”.
