Vizio Adds NFL App To TVs, Unlocking Access To NFL+ And More

Following the arrival of the ESPN app last month, Vizio has now added the NFL app to its smart TVs. The new app opens up the option for football fans to subscribe to NFL+, as well as access more NFL news, highlights and stats in general.

In a bid to offer even better value than before, the NFL made some changes to its NFL+ subscription tiers this year. For example, the NFL+ and the NFL Premium plans both now include access to NFL Network. In addition, those opting to upgrade to the NFL+ Premium plan also now get access to NFL RedZone at no additional cost.

Regardless of which plan a football fan is most interested in, it is now possible to sign up and access NFL+ directly through the NFL app that’s just launched on Vizio smart TVs. Vizio also confirmed there is a plan to integrate Vizio Account, the company’s new payment and subscription management solution, later this year.

We’re excited to broaden the NFL content offering, bringing even more NFL entertainment to the homes of millions of Vizio users,” said Katherine Pond, Group Vice President of Platform Content and Partnerships of Vizio.

Vizio has also renewed carriage of the NFL Channel on its free streaming service, WatchFree+. While the NFL Channel (channel 600) isn’t a replacement for NFL+, it is a free, and provides access to season recaps, documentaries, classic games, and more.

With the launch of the NFL app, the renewal of the NFL Channel and the on demand NFL programming lineup on WatchFree+, Vizio continues on our path of expanding our sports programming,” Pond said.

Last month, Vizio added a Football Kickoff Collection to the Home screen to celebrate the new season, and help smart TV owners more easily find football-related content.
