2024 might not be over yet but plenty of streaming services have already increased in cost. Here’s a reminder of all of the price increases that have already rolled though this year.

January Price Increases

Fubo wasted no time in increasing in price. The cost of the cheapest Fubo plan (Pro) increased to a minimum of $79.99 a month in January, resulting in a $5 monthly increase.

How live TV prices have changed over time

Technically, Prime Video didn’t encounter a price increase but Amazon’s streaming service did introduce a $3/mo ad-free upgrade in January. As this resulted in all subscribers automatically being downgraded to an ad-supported plan, it would have felt like a price increase for subscribers who wanted to continue streaming without ads.

February Price Increases

February was a relatively quiet month for price increases, with the only one being a $1 increase that rolled out to MGM+. This took the price of an MGM+ subscription up to $6.99 a month.

April Price Increases

While we’re unsure whether HIDIVE actually increased in price in March or April, the cost of a subscription increased to $5.99 a month, resulting in a $1 increase.

Acorn TV definitely increased in price in April. With $1 added to the cost, the price of a subscription increased to $7.99 a month.

May Price Increases

Crunchyroll made some changes to its plans in May. While the cheapest tier didn’t encounter an increase, the Mega Fan tier increased to $11.99 a month (up $2) and the Ultimate Fan tier increased to $15.99 a month (up $1).

June Price Increases

June saw a Max price increase roll out. While the increase didn’t affect the cheapest ‘With Ads’ plan, the ad-free plans increased by $1. This resulted in the price of Ad-Free increasing to $16.99 a month and the Ultimate Ad-Free plan increasing to $20.99 a month.

Philo also increased in price in June. With $3 added to the cost, the price of the base package increased to $28 a month. This price increase was somewhat offset by the bundling of AMC+ with the Core plan, a streaming value of $4.99 a month.

July Price Increases

Just ahead of the start of the Paris Olympics, Peacock increased the price of its plans. The July increase took the price of the Premium plan up to to $7.99 a month (up $2) and the cost of the Premium Plus plan up to $13.99 a month (up $2).

August Price Increases

August has proved to be one of the busier price increase months in 2024. Beginning with History Vault, $1 was added to the cost, increasing the price of a subscription to $5.99 a month.

YouTube’s NFL Sunday Ticket followed next with a $30 increase. This price increase took the cost of a subscription through YouTube TV up to a minimum of $379 a season, and the cost of a subscription through YouTube increasing to a minimum of $479.

Starz also rolled out a price increase, adding $1 to the price and taking the cost of a subscription up to $10.99 a month.

Last but not least, Paramount+ rolled out a price increase to its plans. The Paramount+ price increase resulting int the cost of the Essential plan increasing to $7.99 a month (up $2), and the cost of the Paramount+ with Showtime plan increasing to $12.99 a month (up $1)

The 2024 Price Increases Haven’t Finished Yet

With four months of the year still to go, you can expect more price increases to come through before 2024 comes to an end. In fact, DirecTV, Disney, and Hallmark have already confirmed that their streaming services will increase in price later this year.

Beginning September, Hallmark Movies Now will be replaced with Hallmark+ and this will result in the cost of a subscription increasing to $7.99 a month, up $2 on the current $5.99/mo price of Hallmark Movies Now.

Beginning October 6, the cost of all of DirecTV Stream’s plans will increase in price. On this day, the Entertainment plan will increase to $86.99/mo, Choice will increase to $114.99/mo, Ultimate will increase to $129.99/mo, and Premier will increase to $169.99/mo.

Beginning October 17, the cost of Disney+ and Hulu will increase in price. While the ad-supported plans will increase to $9.99 a month each (up $2), Disney+ Premium will increase to $15.99 a month (up $2) and Hulu (No Ads) will increase to $18.99 (up $1). ESPN+ will also increase to $11.99 a month (up $1).

At the same time, the cost of a Hulu Live TV subscription will also increase to $82.99 a month, up $6 from the current $76.99 a month rate.
